Experience And Results Are What Matter

Rear-end car crash occurred because of distracted driver

North Carolina residents who are in a car crash can be injured or even killed. The problems faced by those affected by an auto accident can extend from medical costs and the inability to work to a family that has lost a loved one having to come to grips with the financial, personal and emotional aftermath of that reality. What can make these accidents worse is when a distracted driver causes them. Regardless of the reason, one of the most important factors in considering seeking compensation is the evidence that can be accrued by auto accident compensation attorneys.

An auto accident where one vehicle rear-ended the other at a red light was a result of the driver in the rear vehicle dropping his cellphone. The accident happened when a Honda was stopped for a red signal and was hit in the back by a Subaru. Four male occupants of the Honda were hurt. Three were taken by life-flight to the hospital where they were said to be in critical condition. The fourth man, the driver, was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Subaru, a 30-year-old man, was uninjured. He admitted to law enforcement that he was attempting to retrieve his dropped phone at the time of the accident.

When there is an auto accident, the injuries that are suffered can result in a long hospital stay, the need for surgery and rehabilitation and the ever-present possibility that the victim will need to be cared for 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the rest of his or her life. That can cause a strain not just on the injured party, but on the family as well. When there is a fatality, there are numerous other issues that can come up such as no longer having a cherished family member around to the financial reality that it is a problem making ends meet. Insurance companies are most interested in the bottom line and with that, they might make an offer of a financial settlement to preclude a potentially costly legal filing.

In this incident, four men were hurt when the vehicle they were in was rear-ended by the vehicle of man who confessed to having dropped his phone and searched for it while operating the vehicle. With the evidence and the admission, there is the foundation to seek compensation through a lawsuit. An experienced legal professional could help injured victims and their loved ones understand their recourses following a car accident.
