Experience And Results Are What Matter

It's important to make a VA appeal count

Many veterans in the Charlotte area have given a piece of themselves to their country in that they have suffered a significant injury while in the armed services. Because of these injuries, many of these heroes can no longer work or, at least, they can no longer earn the same income that they once could.

In addition to being eligible for Social Security disability and other programs, veterans can also get benefits through the Veterans Administration and, specifically, its benefits program for disabled vets. Unfortunately, though, this involves a lengthy application process that sometimes ends in a denial of benefits, even if the applicant is very deserving.

An appeal of such decisions takes a lot of time. For one, a veteran who wants to appeal can wait up to a year before doing do so, although waiting is not required and may even be ill advised if the person really needs the benefits. Preparing the actual appeal is simple enough, as it involves the soldier's sending a letter explaining why he or she thinks the decision is wrong.

However, actually preparing a successful appeal is quite another matter, as the panel deciding the appeal is looking for specific reasons to decide that the original decision is incorrect. For this step, the experienced legal professionals in our law office can help ensure that a veteran puts forward the most complete and best case possible on an appeal, ideally in its early stages so as to avoid additional delays. While we can't promise that every case will end as our clients hope, we have successfully represent veterans in both North Carolina and South Carolina who need to appeal unfavorable decisions of their veteran's issues.
